King of the Hammers is one of a kind, insane desert race featuring high-speed stretches that can tear a car apart piece by piece to some of the biggest, most punishing rock trails directly up Mojave Desert mountains. This race requires unique vehicles that can handle it all! Heading up the Monster Energy Team effort is rock crawling legend, Shannon Campbell. The two-time KOH champion has lead the evolution of this race as a racer and a builder, being one of the first to successfully build and race an independent axle 4-wheel drive off-road super buggy. Campbell’s Monster Energy team-mate, Short Course Champion Casey Currie, raced a Shannon Campbell built truck designed to dominate the rough terrain. Overcoming many on-course issues, Shannon finished 3rd while Casey rounded out the top 10. Congratulations to both racers for conquering the 2012 King of the Hammers, in a race like this, it’s an accomplishment just to finish!
