The BFGoodrich Tires Mint 400 is about much more than just the race itself: it’s an immersive, week-long party that captivates off-road fans with an experience unlike any other in the sport. For those in Las Vegas, Thursday was the first of two days of the Mint 400 Off-Road Festival, an immersive takeover of Fremont Street that includes booths from the biggest companies in off-road and events on the Mint 400 Main Stage in the Llama Lot.
“Every year, the Mint 400 Off-Road Festival is one of the most special parts of this event,” said Mint 400 CEO Matt Martelli. “Being able to welcome tens of thousands of fans to come see what our sport is all about is amazing. With so many opportunities to interact with our drivers and race vehicles, as well as the dozens of sponsors whose support makes all of this possible, it’s a great way for us to bring the sport of off-road racing to the people.”
This year’s Mint 400 Off-Road Festival includes everything from an arrive-and-drive experience with BFGoodrich Tires to the Rugged Radios Driver Meet and Greet where fans can get autographs and pictures with the sport’s fastest racers. All the while, dozens of official Mint 400 sponsors are on hand, displaying their products, giving away free swag, and running exclusive competitions for Off-Road Festival attendees.
As fans explore the sponsor booths, tech and contingency runs through Fremont Street, giving fans an opportunity to check out the most powerful vehicles in the sport up close while they’re not running at race speed. Thursday saw a number of teams head straight back to downtown Las Vegas after Method Race Wheels Time Trials to get their vehicles approved to compete in Saturday’s Unlimited Race. In addition, Friday’s competitors all went through the tech line as they prepare for their race tomorrow, and driver.
Thursday night’s festivities conclude with the AMSOIL Pit Crew Challenge, the crowning of 2020 Miss Mint 400 Emily Dobrzenski, and a free concert from Eagles of Death Metal. The Mint 400 Off-Road Festival continues through Friday for off-road fans in Las Vegas, with another full day of tech and contingency running through it for Saturday’s racers. Racing kicks off from this year’s BFGoodrich Tires Mint 400 on Friday with Mini Mint 400 competition and Limited class racing throughout the day.
